RIDE AS A PASSENGER
AT OUR EVENTS!
Here's your chance to head out on track for some laps! If you're new, make sure you have a read through the rules below.
Online sign ups close aproximately one week before each event. If you do not see the event on the link above, it's likely closed. You can sign up on the day if you miss out online.
SIGN UP!
Sign up online! It's much quicker and easier, and y doing this, you can skip the queue on the day to pick up your wristband.
GET YOUR BAND
Head to the Passenger Wristband area, skip the queue and pay the fee to get your wristband. Fee is usually $10.
HEAD TO CAB STOP
If you don't know any drivers there, simply head to the Cab Stop area (available at most events). The team will get you in the next available ride.
BUCKLE UP!
Buckle up and enjoy your ride! Passengers need the same safety gear as drivers - this can vary event to event but the general guidelines are below.
UNDER 17?
If you’re 17 or under, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to ride as a passenger. Children are welcome with their parents, but must have the correct restraints, booster seats, or safety equipment appropriate for their age and size.
FEELING SCARED?
If at any stage during your ride you feel scared, uncomfortable, or unsafe, please let your driver know immediately. Your safety is our priority, and they will return you to the pits as soon as it’s safe to do so.
NO REFUNDS
Unless otherwise stated, proceeds from Passenger Wristband sales go to charity – so you can feel good knowing your contribution supports a great cause! Please note: as this is a charitable donation, wristbands are non-refundable, and no exchanges or credits will be issued if you're unable to get a ride.
NOT GUARANTEED
Passenger rides are not guaranteed. While we do our best to get you into cars via our Cab Stop, it's ultimately up to you to secure a ride. When it’s your turn at the Cab Stop, you must hop into the next available vehicle – please don’t be picky. If there’s a specific car you’d like to ride in, feel free to approach the driver directly and ask.
MEREMERE HAS SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO RIDE AS A PASSENGER - SEE THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR DETAILS.

CRUISING
Passengers are allowed in all cruising sessions. You can have as many passengers as you have seats/belts.

BURNOUTS
You can have one passenger in Burnout Sessions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Seatbelt or Harness
- Race Suit/Overalls recommended. Long Sleeve Shirt & Pants acceptable*
- Enclosed Shoes
- Helmet
- Foam Neck Brace or Hans/FHR
*this may differ from event to event. Summernats Burnout Comp requires Fire Retardant Race Suit.
DRIFTING
You can have one passenger in Drifting Sessions with a Full Roll Cage.
HAMPTON DOWNS/HIGHLANDS REQUIREMENTS:
- Harness
- Fire Retardant Race Suit*
- Fire Retardant Gloves*
- Fire Retardant Shoes*
- Helmet
- Hans/FHR**
LEVELS/RUAPUNA REQUIREMENTS:
- Harness
- Single Layer Race Suit or Cotton Overalls

GYMKHANA
You can have one passenger in Gymkhana Sessions.

- Seatbelt or Harness
- Race Suit/Overalls recommended. Long Sleeve Shirt & Pants acceptable.

- Helmet
- Foam Neck Brace or Hans/FHR
SPEED/GRIP
You can have one passenger in Drifting Sessions with a Full Roll Cage.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
1: Indemnity: We advise that all activities do carry a degree of risk and that by participating in the activity provided by Premier Events, you are expressly assuming those risks personally and are releasing Premier Events and land owners and their officials, representatives and agents (hereinafter known as the promoter) from any liability, claims, losses, damages or expenses caused by any event including, but not limited to:
- personal injury or death – acts which may be constructed as negligent or accidental
- Property loss or damage – any other loss, damage, suffering, emotional or nervous disorder.
2: In participating in the activity I agree to the conditions set out as above and consent to the conditions below:
(a) I agree that my successors, executors, administrators and next of kin are bound by these terms and conditions.
(b) I agree not to commence any litigation or proceedings in relation to the risks and perils set out in 1 above and to indemnify the Promoter against any such claims.
(c) I confirm that I am physically fit and suffer no medical conditions that could put me or another person at risk during this activity.
(d) I consent to receive medical treatment in the case of injury, accident or illness during that activity and to indemnify the Promoter against any claims in respect of this treatment.
3: I agree that any films, sound, video or other recordings of or during the activity can be used by the promoter at its complete discretion without prior approval.
4: No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from Safety checks. Safety checks are intended to assist the competitor in his/her own safety checks and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a spectator or the participants
5: By signing this indemnity, you agree that Premier Events can contact you in regards to future events and promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time.
6: I understand that passenger rides are not guaranteed and it's up to me to find a ride.
7: I understand that all proceeds to go charity and no refunds are given.
MEREMERE PASSENGER SESSIONS
ROLL RACING*
You can have one passenger in select Roll Racing Sessions at Meremere*.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Seatbelt or Harness
- Long Sleeve Shirt & Pants acceptable
- Enclosed Shoes
- Helmet**
*Only available during Passenger Specific sessions. Not available during practise or Competition.
**NO MOTORCROSS HELMETS!
DRAG RACING*

MINIMUM HEIGHT
You must be at least 1.4m in order to ride as a passenger at Meremere.
Seat/Seatbelts/Harnesses must fit securely.
SAFETY GEAR
NO MOTORCROSS HELMETS!
You must have the same safety gear as required by the driver.
SIGN UP TOGETHER
The driver needs to be with you when signing up for a passenger wristband and you both MUST HAVE YOUR HELMETS with you to be checked!
No helmet or no driver = no passenger wristband.
MEREMERE TERMS & CONDITIONS
I have read the competition rules of the Meremere Dragway Track Rules and agree to be bound by them. In consideration of the acceptance of entry of me being permitted to take part of this event, I agree to save harmless and keep indemnified Meremere Dragway Inc, the International Hot Rod Association and such persons or body as may be authorized by Meremere Dragway to promote or organize this event and their respective officials, servants, representatives and agents from and against all actions, claims, costs, expenses and demands in respect of death or injury to myself however caused arising out of in connection with this entry or my taking part in the event and notwithstanding that the same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the aid bodies, their respective officials, servants, representatives and agents. Furthermore this agreement shall in addition to the parties named above extend to all and any other competitors or their servants or agents and to all actions, claims, costs, expenses and demands in respect of death or injury to myself, my driver or mechanic but shall not extend to a competitor adjudged guilty of reckless driving under the competitions rules of the Meremere Dragway Inc track rules.
